William married Rebecca Box daughter of Edward Allen Box and Elizabeth Newton about 1798 in Laurens County, South Carolina. Rebecca was born in 1782 in Laurens County, South Carolina. She died about 1862 in Star of the West, Pike County, Arkansas. She was buried in Shiloh Cemetery.
