Jerry Tooke passed away on February 7, 2019. A time of fellowship and remembrance is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, February 12, 2019, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. Family and friends will gather to celebrate his life of 76 years at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, February 13, 2019, at Lake Ridge Chapel.
Jerry Tooke was born on June 4, 1942, to Eugene and Lorell Hill Tooke in Matador, Texas. Jerry married Robena McCoy Tooke on July 15, 1966, in Flint Avenue Baptist Church in Lubbock, Texas.
Survivors include his wife, Patsy Robena Tooke; children, De’Lila Holder and husband, Monte; and Twila Lukowiak and husband, Chris; grandchildren, Sydney Brooke Holder, Christian Lukowiak, Nathan Lukowiak; and sister, Jean Beason.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Lorell Tooke.
Jerry had wonderful careers protecting and helping others. He served in the United States Air Force and spent many years working at Reese Air Force Base and Lubbock Independent School District. He was a loving husband and an incredible father, grandfather, and brother. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
His family would like to thank the UMC Southwest Cancer Treatment Center and the doctors and nurses at University Medical Center for their love and care.

Jerry was a terrific young man who married my sweet cousin/sister, Robena McCoy. I will always remember his everlasting smile & his precious chuckle. We had many wonderful times together. He was known for his tremendous memory of family history & events. He was a great son-in-law to my wonderful loving Aunt Edna McCoy. He is gone and will always be missed!
You couldn’t help but love Jerry. He was just a home town boy who never saw a stranger. He was someone you felt comfortable with when you first met him. We will miss Jerry greatly. Coy loved Jerry very much and I like to think Coy and Jerry are together talking and remembering growing up in McAdoo. All my love to Robena, DeLila, Twila and families.
I remember our boyhood days of growing up on neighboring farms, our times of talking about our college days, and our times of always trying to understand the new and ever changing computer technology. We had a lifetime of friendship and Jerry will be sorely missed. All of my condolences go to Robena, DeLila, Twila and families.
Dad was the best father in the world. I am so incredibly sad today and I know the tremendous feeling of loss will never go away. However, I find myself feeling remarkably blessed and comforted that this beautiful man was such an incredible part of my life. I will miss him for the rest of my days. However, I will also honor him each and every day by living by the life lessons he taught me: family first, honor, love, hard-work, and kindness.
If you knew Jerry you instantly loved him! His passing leaves a hole in the lives of so many and the world will just not be the same without him. We never met a more kind and patient man. Hugs to Robena and family, we love you all!

Jerry was the first person my brother Bill and I met when we moved from Midland to Lubbock. At the same time he became a trusting and truthful landlord and a caring best friend. Any problems we had he immediately took care of. We enjoyed sitting on the front porch and talking about things of no importance to anyone but 3 men separated by 3 years. When he came over, we had to make sure we had plenty of hot coffee ready. Meeting, knowing, and renting from Jerry was a blessing in my life that I will never forget.
