Edna Lila Mae Stephenson McCoy

Services for Edna Stephenson McCoy, 81, of Lubbock were held at 2 p.m. , Thursday, Jan. 11, 1990, in W. W. Rix Chapel with the Rev. Shell D. Denison, pastor of St. Matthews United Methodist Church, officiating.

Burial was in McAdoo Cemetery under direction of Rix Funeral Directors.

She died at 6:58 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 9, 1990, in Methodist Hospital in Lubbock after a lengthy illness.

She was born in Woodruff County, AR., and moved to Lubbock in 1947 from McAdoo. She married Monie James McCoy July 11, 1942, in Paducah. He died Dec. 15, 1969. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Matthews United Methodist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Robena Tooke of Lubbock and Christine Parks of San Antonio; three sisters, Robena Watts and Lucille Stanley, both of Lubbock, and Grace Fendley of Port Lavaca; three brothers, W. J. Stephenson of Lubbock, Charlie Stephenson of Dickens and Roland Waldrop of Russellville, AR; and two grandchildren.

Note-- Christine Parks was not actually of daughter of my Aunt Edna, (she was a niece) but she did spend a great deal of time with her and my grandmother.
