Our beloved Beverly “Bubbles” Robecca Wilhite went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 9, 2018. Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers will host a gathering of friends and family on Friday, October 12, 2018 from 6 to 8 pm. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 13, 2018, 10 am at the Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. Bubbles was born on January 23, 1952 to Barney and Robena (Stephenson) Watts in Spur, TX. Her family moved to Lubbock when she was young and she graduated from Coronado High School. Following graduation she entered Nursing school in Lubbock. On August 16, 1974 she married Jack W. Wilhite, Jr. in Wolfforth. Bubbles worked as an LVN at Lubbock Osteopathic Hospital for many years. She left the hospital and went on to work for several doctors. Bubbles was very talented and enjoyed drawing, art work and country dancing; however her passion was music. She enjoyed playing the guitar and piano with her family as well as with the Maines Brothers and other bands. She spent many years as a Boy Scout leader and working in the Boy Scout office. She also coached baseball and was lovingly known as “Mama 2”. Later in life, Bubbles had a second career as a certified Activity Director for several nursing homes, where she and her mother also shared their musical talents. Recently she enjoyed spending as much time as possible at their second home in Spur. She loved being a part of that community to which she felt such a special bond.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Toby O’Neal; two grandsons, Mason France, and Jordan Wilhite; and a brother-in-law, Rex Parks.
Bubbles is survived by her husband, Jack W. Wilhite, Jr. of Ropesville; daughter, Chris Ann O’Neal; son, Jason Wilhite and wife Kellye all of Lubbock; three grandchildren, Nickie Bouton, Wyatt Edge, and Jaxton Wilhite; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lou Ann Whitworth and husband Ray of Spring, Texas, and Mickey Parks of Round Rock, Texas; brother, Charles Watts and wife Geri of Victoria, Texas; and many cousins, nephews, and nieces.
